Why We Need Your Donation

PBH’s Free Fringe is a non-profit organisation that helps artists perform at the Edinburgh Fringe without the excessive costs usually associated with it. It is run by volunteers and yet it is still able to present a huge portion of the Edinburgh Fringe programme.

The total bill for running the organisation for so many acts is considerable and every year it has to ensure it breaks even in order to be able to continue to entertain 1000s of audience members.

Usually the artists themselves are asked to make a voluntary donation to help keep the organisation running but it is our dream to not have to do this and allow artists to do their thing without a price tag attached.

Despite us arranging 100’s of shows for free, especially for performers and audience who can least afford it, and making a huge difference to the Edinburgh Fringe for many years, we were not considered eligible for the 2021 Resilience Fund due to much of the criteria being based on turnover and payroll. This meant for-profit organisations were favoured instead.

By making a donation, you are helping to cover the costs of our famous Wee Blue Book, the all important sound equipment, the essential venue preparations and a lot more. Most of all, it means we can bring more acts to the Fringe to entertain you.

Please make a donation and help us keep making the Fringe better!
